bullet UNICEF
The Justplay Behavior Management Program has been identified as a tool that helps to prevent violence and abuse against children in the new booklet published by the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF)! In their recent publication: Protecting Children From Violence in Sport: A Review with a Focus on Industrialized Countries, it was identified as an violence prevention initiative aimed to reach sport organizations and clubs.

On July 8th, 2010 research by Justplay made front page headlines in the Toronto Star. In an article entitled, Out-of-control amateur coaches mentally abuse players , Rob Cribb summarized data presented by Elaine Raakman (president/founder of Justplay), Kim Dorsch and Daniel Rhind at the Petro-Canada Sport Leadership Conference in Vancouver (November 2009).

Following the framework of the successful Justplay Workshop Series for sport parents, coaches, administrators and athletes, Justplay has developed the Camp Community workshops for camp leaders, counselors and administrators.
Last summer, Justplay was pleased to work with camp staff in the City of Mississauga and the Town of Caledon and are looking forward to working with many more communities in 2008!

bullet Justplay presented at SOC Conference
Toronto, ON May 25-27 - Sport Officials Canada hosted their annual Conference in Toronto and invited Justplay to be a part of it. This year's theme was "Raising the Bar: High Performance Training & Management of Officials". Justplay President, Elaine Raakman, was involved in a panel discussion about Tools of the Trade and her message about Justplay was well received.

bullet May 14- FREE Coaching Event in Burlington, ON
May 14, 7:00 - With generous support from the Communities In Action Fund , and in partnership with Burlington Lions Optimist Minor Hockey (BLOMHA) Justplay has created a new community coaching model called the Coaching Connection. The Coaching Connection is a bi-monthy support group for community coaches that focuses on a new topic each session. The May 14 topic will be "Play vs. Competition".

bullet Social Climate of Hockey study to officially begin January 26
Burlington, Ontario, Canada - Justplay, McMaster University and Burlington Lions Optimist Minor Hockey Association are working together on a special project project that has been funded, in part, by the Communities in Action Fund and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada. This project, which examines perceptions of bullying and harassment from the playerís perspective in the hockey (or sport) environment is the first of its kind in North America.

Justplay and the Burlington Lions Optimist Minor Hockey Association (BLOMHA) have recently partnered to create two projects that will benefit minor hockey and the Burlington community. To support these projects, they applied for and received a Communities In Action Fund (CIAF) grant from the Ministry of Health Promotion.

Calgary, Alberta - Calgary United Soccer Association (CUSA) has become the first adult soccer league to use the Justplay Program.

bullet Vatican publishes proceedings of Church & Sport Inaugural Conference
From November 11-12, 2005, the Vatican hosted an international seminar to examine the state of sport globally. Fifty delegates from 18 different countries were personally invited according to their areas of expertise. Elaine Raakman, the founder of Justplay, was one of 10 participants asked to present, and one of four women invited to participate.

bullet First basketball association joins Justplay!
Calgary, Alberta - Justplay has its first Canadian minor basketball client and welcomes the Calgary Minor Basketball Association (CMBA) aboard! The CMBA started using the Justplay Program in early January 2006.
