The technical official is the only participant (group) that has no stake in the outcome of the game. Their presence is to ensure that the game is played as fairly as possible. Justplay provides each official within the association a Conduct Notepad. At the conclusion of every game, each participating official independently fills out a short questionnaire, or "Justplay Conduct Report." The conduct report includes logistical game information, identifies the official and his/her role, and uses a five point Likert scale (with 1 being very good and 5 being very poor) for the official to rate the behaviour of the coaches, players and spectators of each team. The official rates the overall conduct of each of these groups and also rates his/her own satisfaction/comfort level within the context of the game using the same scale. The official uses the Conduct Notepad to keep track of their games and, a few times a week, enters all information into the Justplay Program online. The entire entry process takes only moments the officials’ time. Officials using the program have commented on its simplicity and ease. Justplay is committed to the support and development of officials. Officials represent the integrity of the game. It is important to continue to develop programs to improve official skills, encourage recruitment and support retention. A number of graphs generated by the Justplay Behaviour Management Program help to identify official strengths and weaknesses. The first step toward implementing the Justplay Program requires support from and by the officials in your association. As officials stand to benefit considerably from an improvement in behaviour, their participation is often voluntary. However, many associations are requiring the participation of their officials due to the importance of the information. If a list of your officials is provided, Justplay can Pre-Register your officials. Otherwise, officials must register themselves at the Justplay website. The second step towards implementation is to provide Justplay with your game schedules (we accept these in many formats). Once payment is received, Justplay sends Conduct Notepads and officials can begin entering their data. Depending on the size of the association, graphs begin generating within weeks.
